Leah Thayer Pritchard
About
Leah Thayer Pritchard is an ordinary American. She was born in Brattleboro, VT in the summer of 1980 and enjoyed a beautiful childhood playing, reading, and dreaming in the quiet woods of rural Vermont. For as long as she can remember, she has known God created her to write.
When Leah was a child, she made a decision all on her own to trust in Jesus Christ and accept His gift of forgiveness for her sins. This was the most important and defining moment of her life. When it came time for college, Leah wanted to find a school where she could study the Bible at a deeper level and also study writing. She found her niche at Chicago’s Moody Bible Institute and graduated from there with a B.A. in Communications in 2002. Her love for studying God’s Word has only grown since then; the Bible is the bedrock of her life and work.
At age 26 she married her best friend, Josh, who keeps her grounded, grows tomatoes for her every summer, and has a way of turning everyday life into an adventure. Leah and Josh spent several significant years living and working together in China, which God used to shape Leah’s understanding of the world and communism and to inspire her book on socialism, Operation Ordinary, published in 2020.
Leah and Josh currently live in the Kansas City area and have three children. A direct descendant of Priscilla Mullins, John Alden, and four other passengers of the Mayflower, Leah takes her family’s heritage of faith seriously. She prays God will help her live it every day and pass it on—not only to her kids, but also to her readers.
As she scans dark headlines, works on her next book, kisses booboos, and cans tomatoes, Leah is watching and waiting with all her heart for the pending return of the King of Kings, who has promised to bring peace and a glorious ending to the tumultuous saga of world history.
